I received a comment on my 20sb page from someone and decided to check out her blog. I was intrigued, because the name of her blog is Sandy and the 1000 Paper Cranes. I poked around her blog and found that she is making 1000 paper cranes, writing a positive word on them, and "releasing" them around her hometown in Jersey. She was inspired by the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Elanor Coerr. I have yet to read that book, but her mission inspired me.
Since I'm currently unemployed and really don't have anything to do during the day, I decided I'm going to give this a try. I've always wanted to do something in my life that made a difference in people's lives, and I think this could be it. There's also a Japanese legend that anyone who folds 1000 paper cranes is granted one wish. I'm not really concerned about the wish. I just want to make a difference.
